Cycle of Home Sickness keeps going and going!

We are all having a bit of a low.  I blame it totally on Marinda and Steve.

Lucas's sister and her husband are so fun to have around when they left we all had a let down.  Plus the girls thought we would be going home with them so that was a major hit for them.

The fall days are beautiful and I find myself not hating the weather anymore.  Heat and I do not get along, but I have to say I am past the dislike this place phase and have moved into the waiting zone.  I think I am actually still in the dislike phase cause tonight at work I did count down to see how many weeks left (33).  But when I say only 33 more Saturday's here it is kind of sad.

I have had two strangers now contact me through my blog and ask questions.  I have totally failed one of them--I told her I would post my budget the first few months and have yet to do it.

The last lady contacted me and said I gave her the push to go ahead and move to Korea.  That actually made me giddy for a while, and then really scared.

What if they hate it?  What if they aren't use to being poor like we are and find it unrealistic and have to eat ramen every meal ever day for 2 weeks---Not that WE are doing that.  Actually we aren't.  We are really tight on money this month which means eating out once a week has now turned to eating out never! Which is ok cause we sacrificed for a great cause--having fun with Marinda and Steve.

SO I am doing a BIG WARNING to anyone who is thinking of moving to Korea.

I like lists so here are some things I find frustrating being here as a family.

1. Everyone else here is single, or here with just a couple, so people have way more money.
2.  Couples earn twice as much since they both work but share one household set of bills--so you always feel a little behind because you can't go out as much as they do--or even 1/4 as often.
3. Your kids will get SICK of people asking them `whats your name? How old are you?` because every Korean knows those 2 sentences in English

So I started this post weeks ago~ I will publish what I have now

BUT...

to be continued.

SO EXCITED!

We have a computer...wait for it...that works!!

The computer church guy-Brother Kim brought us a computer last week.  We set it all up only to have it not work! It would just try over and over to get past the "windows starting up" screen and nothing ever happened.

So he kindly brought us another computer on Sunday---got it all set up---it was up and running and I said-"put a movie in" (we borrowed one movie from a friend and there were 3 in the case!) and guess what? No sound! Brother Kim shook his head.  "it worked at home right before i brought it over."

We are kind of the black hole for computers!  SO he said "I think I have one more at home we can try tomorrow."

So fast forward to coming home and seeing Lucas playing Spider Solitaire and it looked different!  A computer that works!  It is a blessing. Seriously.Well maybe before I talk to soon I am going to play on the computer for a while just to make sure.

So while I had high aspirations in the start to blog daily, and then changed it to weekly--now I am lucky if I blog monthly! BUT maybe a working computer will make things go more smoothly!

As for pictures?  Well I downloaded all the picture off the other computer onto the two thumb drives I have and do you think I can find them!?  Nope not at all!  UGG!

So be prepared for an overload of posts coming soon--I hope!

Marinds and Steve!

Marinda and Steve are here visiting!
Our first day we picked them up at the airport where Steve`s passport didn`t scan correctly so they pylled him aside and asked him all sorts of questions.  I guess the Larson family has now been investigated to make sure Steve`s story is true~ they pulled all our records up and questiomed Steve about who we are, and who he is and why are we all here!  Poor guy!

After that we found a hotel~ the first hotel was to expensive. The second hotel Lucas chewed the guy out because he wouldn`t let Lucas look at a room before we bought it but The Raindow Hotel was very kind and we stayed there.  If it had been an American hotel it would have been considered a hole in the wall~ but I found it a perfect example of Korea culture~except for the actual hole in the wall in our room.
Three beds in a long skinny room was great! Sedona got her own bed for the night and Wheeler, sharing with Pepper, fell off twice~so eventually Pepper got her own bed cause Wheeler slept with us.
One reason I loved it~there was a bathtub! I got to take my first bath in over 4 months.  It was small, but the water was hot so I didn`t care.

The next morning we explored the `foreigner` shopping center in Seoul.  Walking from our hotel we passed, and looked at a huge display of planes, tanks, a few boats and a ship.  It was really neat to see those things up close and think about Grandpa Cluff, Uncle Robert, and others we know who served in the war.

We then were soon in the middle of stores~ selling clothes, knick knacks, food, and anything else a tourist could want.  I know where to go to buy my memory items before we go home!

Soon we were running to catch the bullet train home~ made it by about 2 minutes.  We bought standing room only tickets but were able to sit together the whole time.
